These are duplications of those included in the combined trail and topo map gmapsupp. If the gmapsupp. See this page for a description and how to revert back to an older working version. Neither trail maps nor topographic maps have address, so address search does not work if only they are enabled.
Highway maps, like those build-in to automotive units do generally allow address searches. Enable the highway map and perform the address search. Create a Favorite for any address found. You can then disable the highway map and use the trail map to route you along trails as close as possible to that address. Custom POI file searches can be performed regardless of which maps are enabled.
You can therefore search for snowmobile trailer parking spots with only your highway map enabled. Because there are no engineered speed limits assignments for trails, estimated time of arrival calculations cannot be relied upon and may be highly inaccurate.
Joined: Dec 28, Oddometer: 1. I am not familiar with the 3rd party topos but do like garmins 24k maps. As far as the way the and that I owen handles maps loaded from the DVD is not good as far as I am concerned. Read the following post I made on this subject. I would also like to say how disappointed I am in how it handles adding additional maps to A SD card. You can only put one map per SD card. So now you need to Carry A library of cards with you if you like riding your Motorcycle on and off road.
As an example, if you load one of the topo maps on a SD card it creates a file called Gmapsupp. If you load another file on that card it over rights the Gmapsupp with another Gmapsupp, and delete the other map file. So one Map for each SD card. Zooming in on a location I would expect the OpenTopo map to show up, only shows Basemap data. I installed four maps including Belgium, France and Italy on my 66s and only one showed up Belgium. As previously written, I expected that the other maps would show up in the menu when my location would change and that I would go into one of these other countries.
I renamed the map of Belgium just added an extension. Never had this problem myself so dificult to test here what a solution might be. A couple of things popped up in my head. But you suddenly being able to select Italy without changing that file.. Very curious if you got some new info on this! Might help other people here. Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the map I want onto my garmin 64sx and I can choose to enable the map.
I do not have the gmapsupp. Several other files but this particular 1 does not show up. Hello, I confirm that there is no gmapsupp.
You will only find a file named gmapbmap. This file contains the preloaded base map. You will only instantly see the map if you are in the area where you downloaded the map for. Otherwise, try zooming out. You can leave the original basemap enabled to make it easier to find the area. Hi Wouter, so the new maps then are not supposed to show up on the list at all and cannot be enabled or disabled? I have tried downloading my.
Yes the maps should show up on the list. I wrote it up this time and thought I would share just in case somebody else gets in the same predicament. To load recent maps which are larger than the internal memory you need to use an SD card. The Zumo will not recognize more than 4gb of the card but bigger cards will work. Do a search for Garmin Mapinstall. It will tell you that it is going to take several hours and even though I have a very fast computer it did.
My new map was on top and checked. The old map was below and checked.
