This is not only faster and less error-prone but also clearer since your method overwrites whatever you change in about:config after you restart SM. All of my passwords - including my Master - transferred and worked on my install on my MacBook Pro with I have yet to update my other machines, but my MacBook install appears to be working quite nicely now, and if I encounter issues during other upgrades I'll just copy the Profile contents from my MacBook.
